More Details

NASBM has developed the professional standards as the blueprint for effective practice and as a tool for recruitment, performance management and career progression across the wide variety of roles within schools.

The standards are tiered in a way that reflects the level of contribution that practitioners are making towards defined functional areas and leadership activities. The tiers take professional practice from those at entry level making a contribution to a process or a function, through to those strategically leading.

Our training runs across all five discipline areas covering CPD at the following tiered levels

Tier One - Practice at this level is likely to include, but not limited to, making contributions to a process or a project with some direct responsibility for an area of work or an element of a team. Knowledge at this level would be limited to working knowledge required to perform the task.

Tier Two - Practice at this level is likely to include, but not limited to, supervision of a team, a process or a project with supervisory responsibilities for an individual or a team discharging a task or function. Knowledge at this level requires a level competency to provide coaching and mentoring where necessary.

Tier Three - Practice at this level is likely to include, but not limited to, the management of a team, a process or a project with management accountability for an individual or a team discharging a task or function. Knowledge at this level requires strong technical competency and an understanding of the wider implications to the organisation if teams fail to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
