Implementing Statutory Relationships (& Sex) Education and Health Education: A Guide for PSHE Education Leads

From September 2020 Relationships (& Sex) Education and Health Education will be statutory in all schools, this session will help you to be compliant.

Outline

This session will give PSHE education leaders the key information they require to effectively implement these new areas. Guidance will be given on legal requirements, inclusive approaches, policy development and curriculum design. £75 per delegate.

Description

During this session we will consider the legal framework and how this applies in your school. We will explore your role in leading this area including designing a curriculum. The session will also look at potential challenges such as having an inclusive approach to teaching and learning and how to work in partnership with parents.

Outcomes

This course will enable you to:

~ Understand the legal requirements of statutory Relationships (& Sex) Education and Health Education in your school

~ Explore potential issues and how to address these

~ Identify key areas for curriculum design

~ Begin an action plan for implementation in your school
