Role of the fire marshal in a fire emergency situation

Outline

A trainer from the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Service will take you through the key roles and responsibilities of a Fire Marshal

Description

The course will include requirements in Fire safety.
~ An overview of the legal requirements in Fire Safety.
~ The key roles and duties of a fire marshal.
~ General information about fire, how fires start and how they spread
~ Fire Evacuation procedures and drills.
~ The type of fire extinguishers found in premises
~ Supporting fire evacuations, including the development of personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPS).

Outcomes

This course will enable delegates to:
~ Develop their awareness of the hazards which may lead to a risk of fire in their premises.
~ Understand and be able to implement the actions they will take in a fire emergency.
~ Use their skills and knowledge to support the communication of fire procedures to building occupants.
~ Ensure that all occupants can evacuate safely by ensuring personal emergency evacuation plans are in place where needed.
~ Support premises managers in carrying out fire drills and other checks if necessary.

Booking Information

This course does NOT include a practical use of fire extinguishers.

Audience

This course is suitable for anyone who has the role of a fire marshal in their premises.
