There are many stages to becoming an independent writer so together we will consider the key skills and strategies to support children on this

Description

This course offers an opportunity to consider the key skills needed for children to become independent writers in the early years. We will explore a variety of strategies to support children to consistently apply their writing skills in a variety of situations, whilst also considering the role of the adult and how to encourage parental support.

Outcomes

This course will enable you to:
  • Understand the complex skills involved in the process of learning to write.
  • Gain a greater understanding of strategies that can be used to support young children in becoming competent writers.
  • Implement strategies to raise outcomes in writing and promote a love of writing.
  • Develop strategies to engage parents to understand and support writing development.

Audience

This course is suitable for Nursery and Reception Teachers, Newly Qualified Teachers and EYFS Teaching Assistants.
