Outline

Join Anna Ephgrave to explore how child-initiated play leads to deep levels of involvement, indicating increased brain activity. You will learn how to keep paperwork meaningful and manageable and yet still meet all the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted.

Anna Ephgrave has been teaching for over 27 years. Her most recent post was Assistant Head Teacher responsible for the Early Years and Year One at Carterhatch Infant School, which was graded as Outstanding in its most recent inspection. Anna is an independent consultant, trainer and author, supporting practitioners both in the United Kingdom and abroad. She has written two very successful books for David Fulton, Routledge: The Reception Year in Action and The Nursery Year in Action.
She is passionate about the need for children to feel confident and independent; outdoor learning and risk-taking play a large part in the experience she offers the children

Description

The course agenda:
Session 1: Agree the vision for excellent early years practice. Learn how to recognise deep involvement and why this is so critical.
Session 2: Explore how to create an enabling environment and quality interactions to support child-initiated learning.
Session 3: Discover how to simplify planning and record keeping and get some balance back into your work life.
Session 4: Be reassured that attainment in writing can be achieved without formalisation, by keeping it real and exciting.

Outcomes
