This course will explore Autism including: Myths and Facts. The Triad of Impairments, Behaviour & Sensory sensitivities ,Issues with eating, toileting and sleeping.

Description

Agenda: 1. What is ASD? 2. Myths and Facts 3. An exploration of the Triad of Impairments and strategies to support these areas. 4. Behaviour and Sensory issues. 5. Strategies to support sensory issues 6. Difficulties with eating, toileting and sleeping

Outcomes

This course will enable you to: have an awareness and understanding of Autism in the Early Years. Understand and support the three areas of difficulty (Triad of Impairment). Be aware of sensory sensitivities in ASD and how they can affect behaviour. Use strategies to support children's sensory sensitivities. Be aware of eating, toileting and sleeping issues and gain strategies to support these areas.
